so you want to learn to
dance?
why we teach
Kizomba
We are Zsolt & Romena
Our love of Kizomba inspired us to start KCN to teach others all about our favourite dance
We have been teaching Kizomba at our new venue since early 2024; it’s a gorgeous venue (as shown in the pictures!) and there’s plenty of parking.
If you’ve never danced Kizomba before but want to learn, you will soon discover that YouTube videos can only take you so far. Without proper guidance and somebody who knows what they are doing watching you, you simply do not know how it is supposed to feel, look, or work. You absolutely must learn from someone who can teach Kizomba.
We take beginner Kizomba dancers through from first steps of basic 1, basic 2 and basic 3 into mens and ladies saida, retrocesso, virgula, clock turn – and then into more complex moves; but, without a solid grounding in the basics – which we will teach you – it’s impossible to progress as a Kizomba dancer.
Our Kizomba classes cater for all levels from beginner upwards, and no matter what level you’re at, you can learn with us.
Classes run every Thursday and Sunday in two locations, with ample free parking. We have new Kizomba dancers most weeks, so you will never be on your own. Plus, we have all been beginners at some points – we know how you feel!

What's it all about?
Kizomba is a partner dance, but you do not need a partner!
Kizomba, a popular Angolan dance and music genre, emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s, evolving from Semba with influences from Kilapanda and Angolan. The name “Kizomba” itself, meaning “party” or “celebration” in the Kimbundu language, reflects its origins in social gatherings and celebrations. The dance is characterized by its close embrace, smooth, earthy movements, and musicality, emphasising connection and interpretation of the music.
Our lessons are suitable from beginner up to advanced. If you’ve never danced Kizomba before, we will teach you how.
